Application virtualization has been around for over two decades. VDI has been around for over a decade. Enterprise browser is a newer technology that enables IT to securely deliver web applications to end users on any device.
In the past, application virtualization was used to deliver the browser as a Windows application. That is expensive both from an infrastructure perspective as well as problematic from a user experience perspective.
Enterprise browser can eliminate VDI infrastructure. There are users who only need access to a few (less than 10) web applications. These may in include public SaaS applications like Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, and others. They may also need proprietary web applications.
We recommend that you examine your app estate and deliver your SaaS and private web applications using an enterprise browser. An enterprise browser may be the most secure and cost-effective tool for those users.
